Luxor sightseeing day tour starts with your breakfast boxes from the reception of your hotel which you had to order one day before.
Your guide will pick you up with an air-conditioned vehicle to start your full-day tour to the ancient pilgrimage sites of Dendera and Luxor sightseeing.
Dendera temple location and History
Dendera temple is located about 2.5 km south-east of Dendera, 60 kilometers north of Luxor on the west bank of the Nile River, roughly opposite the city of Qena, the capital of the province and governorate of Qena.
The Temple is one of the latest and best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt and it was dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the goddess of motherhood, beauty, sexuality, love, joy, harmony, dance and music was often associated with the planet, Venus.
Ptolemy VIII and Queen Cleopatra II built it, and then later, Roman Emperors continued to decorate it and honor the Goddess Hathor. The Greeks identified the Goddess Hathor as Aphrodite. Dendera was an ancient healing center, comparable to a Greek Asklepion or the Catholic Lourdes.

Do not miss a feature of Dendera temple not found elsewhere, Crypts. Some underground, some enclosed within the massive double walls of the upper temple with their ceremonial and religious significance as well. After that, you will proceed with your day to the next stop.
Luxor Sightseeing
You will visit the spectacular tombs of the new Empire Pharaohs (Valley of the Kings). 64 tombs including the tomb of the very famous boy-king Tutankhamen were dug totally inside the mountains. After the valley of the kings, you will have a quick stop at Colossi of Memnon, the gigantic statues of king Amenhotep the third that was once standing in front of his mortuary temple.
You will take your lunch in a local restaurant then you will cross the Nile with a little motorboat to have your last visit to Karnak temple which is the biggest temple ever known in mankind’s history.
You will need to balance your body, heart, and soul in a harmonically way to listen from your guide about the miracles of the construction of the Karnak temple and the technique they used to cut the hard stones and transporting them through the Nile, The erecting of the obelisks which weight sometimes 280 tons. We want to make it as easy as possible to do so we try to make our cancellation policy as good as we can and we divided the cancellation policy into Individual Travelers, groups depending on the high and peak period of the season.
Day Tours and Shore Excursions Cancellation
Cancellation by the clients
Cancellation requests should be sent via fax or emailed to provide the Company with written confirmation that your reservation should be cancelled.
In case you cancel your trip, the following scale of charges will be applied.
- For daily excursions no cancellation fee ( 0 % cancellation fee ) is charged and a full refund is given if the cancellation is received 12 hours before trip starts.
- Less than 12 hours before the trip starts a 50% will be charged as a cancellation fee.
- Additionally, there are cancellation fees on all domestic flights within Egypt. If you cancel a tour at any time, you will be subject to any fees according to airline’s cancellation policy.
Cancellation by Golavita
We reserve the right to cancel a tour at any circumstances but will not cancel a tour less than 45 days before departure, except for Force Majeure, Low Bookings or clients’ failure to pay the final balance, the Company will, upon cancellation, return all monies paid excluding payment for travel insurance or offer an alternative tour of comparable standard. No compensation will be paid to the Client if cancellation is because of Force Majeure or Low Bookings.

Is it allowed for non-Muslims to enter historical mosques in Egypt?
• Non-Catholics can enter the Vatican and non-Christians are welcomed at churches around the world. While not all the holy mosques of Egypt are off-limits to non-Muslims. All the historical mosques are open for the visit of Muslims/non-Muslims alike like Mohamed Ali Mosque within the Citadel, Amr Ibn El Ass mosque, Ibn Tulun mosque, El Refae mosque, Madrassa of Sultan Hassan and Al Azhar mosque. However, there are protocols which must be followed. Always remember a mosque is a place of prayer and worship for Muslims. It is not a museum.
Can I take pictures while visiting the monuments in Egypt
The answer is between yes and no. in most of the sightseeing it is allowed to take photos and make your trip memorable but there are other places in which you can not take even your camera with you for example Egyptian Museum, Valley of the kings, inside any of the Pyramid, inside the tombs in Sakkara, tombs of noblemen in Luxor, valley of the queens in Luxor.
