First, stop Old Cairo

Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel then your archaeologist guide will pick you up with an air-conditioned vehicle to the oldest place of Cairo(Old Cairo) or (Masr el Adima) or (Multi-religious compound) as it is called in Egypt. Your tour will include the Hanging Church (El Muallaqa) like suspended in English because it was built on the ruins of the old two towers that remained from the Roman fortress Babylon.

The Hanging Church dates back to the end of the third century and the beginning of the fourth century A.D. the oldest and the first built-in Basilican style and the most famous Christian Coptic church in Cairo. It was also the seat of the patriarchs after transferring it from Alexandria to Al-Fustat.

Second Stop Abu Serga Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue

Then you will visit the church of St. Sergius (Abu Serga) where you will see the place where the Virgin Mary and her son rested during their trip to Egypt. After that, you will head to Ben Ezra Synagogue which is not far from St. Sergius church. It’s believed that the site of the Synagogue, it’s where they found the basket of the baby Moses and where the baby was taken out of the River. Moreover in this Synagogue once was a copy of the Old Testament.

Third stop Citadel of Saladin and Alabaster Mosque

After the Synagogue, you will be taken to another fantastic place where you will breathe fresh air and have a perfect panorama for the whole of Cairo (The Citadel of Saladin) or Qalaa Salah Al-din. The fortress built in 7 years between 1176 and 1183 A.D to protect Cairo from the Crusaders on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo.

There you will have the chance to visit the Mosque of Muhammed Ali or the Alabaster Mosque which was built between 1828 and 1848. Also, you will compare this Mosque as a perfect example of Ottoman architecture in Egypt and another typical Egyptian architecture Mosque for king Al-Nasser Muhammed Ibn Qalaun dates back to the 14th Century.
