Cairo to Alexandria Full Day Guided Tour From Cairo
Cairo to Alexandria day tour starts early morning from Cairo. Your Guide will pick you up with air-condition vehicle to start an amazing day to the Bride of the Mediterranean, The City That Never Sleeps, the Pearl of the Mediterranean or Lady Alexandria and you will visit some of its most famous sightseeing.
First Stop Catacombs of Kom El Shuqafa
On the way to Alexandria Egypt, your guide will explain you the ancient Egyptian history and he will introduce you the Greco-Roman history till you will reach your first stop. The Catacombs of Kom El Shuqafa or the largest Roman Cemetery which is consisting of three levels cut in the rock under the ground level. Catacombs date back to the Greco-Roman era and it was cut in the rock to a depth of 35 meters.
Second Stop Pompeys Pillar
Then you visit the Pompeys Pillar, The red granite column which is 28 meters high and from an inscription in Greek written on the column we know it was not for Pompey as the Crusaders believe but was erected like Memorial column for Diocletian, the Roman emperor.
Third Stop Citadel of Qaitbay
Then you will head to the western edge of Alexandria to visit from outside the Citadel of Qaitbay which dates back to 1480 AD. Sultan El Ashraf Qaitbay built a series of castles fortress along the Egyptian seashore in order to fortify the Egyptian cost line against the Ottomans. So he built the citadel on the site of the lighthouse of Alexandria using some of its stones.
Last Stop Bibliotheca Alexandrina
Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant then you will go to your last visit, Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Finally, we will drive you back to your hotel in Cairo.

Our goal is to provide extensive tours and excursion services and innovative travel products for our guests to ensure they enjoy the best of what Egypt has to offer as a holiday destination but we understand things happen in life and sometimes you have to cancel or change your tour plan. We want to make it as easy as possible to do so we try to make our cancellation policy as good as we can and we divided the cancellation policy into Individual Travelers, groups depending on the high and peak period of the season.
Day Tours and Shore Excursions Cancellation
Cancellation by the clients
Cancellation requests should be sent via fax or emailed to provide the Company with written confirmation that your reservation should be cancelled.
In case you cancel your trip, the following scale of charges will be applied.
- For daily excursions no cancellation fee ( 0 % cancellation fee ) is charged and a full refund is given if the cancellation is received 12 hours before trip starts.
- Less than 12 hours before the trip starts a 50% will be charged as a cancellation fee.
- Additionally, there are cancellation fees on all domestic flights within Egypt. If you cancel a tour at any time, you will be subject to any fees according to airline’s cancellation policy.
Cancellation by Golavita
We reserve the right to cancel a tour at any circumstances but will not cancel a tour less than 45 days before departure, except for Force Majeure, Low Bookings or clients’ failure to pay the final balance, the Company will, upon cancellation, return all monies paid excluding payment for travel insurance or offer an alternative tour of comparable standard. No compensation will be paid to the Client if cancellation is because of Force Majeure or Low Bookings.

Is it allowed for non-Muslims to enter historical mosques in Egypt?
• Non-Catholics can enter the Vatican and non-Christians are welcomed at churches around the world. While not all the holy mosques of Egypt are off-limits to non-Muslims. All the historical mosques are open for the visit of Muslims/non-Muslims alike like Mohamed Ali Mosque within the Citadel, Amr Ibn El Ass mosque, Ibn Tulun mosque, El Refae mosque, Madrassa of Sultan Hassan and Al Azhar mosque. However, there are protocols which must be followed. Always remember a mosque is a place of prayer and worship for Muslims. It is not a museum.
Can I take pictures while visiting the monuments in Egypt
The answer is between yes and no. in most of the sightseeing it is allowed to take photos and make your trip memorable but there are other places in which you can not take even your camera with you for example Egyptian Museum, Valley of the kings, inside any of the Pyramid, inside the tombs in Sakkara, tombs of noblemen in Luxor, valley of the queens in Luxor.
