Monastery of St Simeon with Felucca Riding and Swimming in the Nile
Monastery of St Simeon with Felucca Riding begins with picking you up from your hotel in Aswan or your Nile cruise boat to the jetty. You will sail from East bank of Nile to the West Bank or to the jetty from which Camels could be organized to Monastery of St Simeon.
We will have like 20 Minutes Felucca ride till the jetty then we will start our Camels adventure to the Monastery of St Simeon in supreme silence and beautiful desert landscape. The tour takes like 30 minutes to reach the monastery then your guide will show you how the Monastery of St Simeon is one of the largest Coptic monasteries in Egypt and it dates back to the 6th or 7th century and is located opposite the southern tip of the elephantine island.
You will see with your guide, most of the main buildings still in good conditioned of conservation like the towers, domed church, some of the Coptic scenes like frescos beside the main functional areas in the second level like cooking place, taking place, washing place and sleeping place.
After you will finish your visit to the Monastery of St Simeon, you will enjoy camel ride back to the felucca which will sail to a nice place where you can swim in the Nile, then Felucca Nile will sail back to the nearest place to your Nile cruise boat or you will go back to your hotel if you stay in a hotel.

Day Tours and Shore Excursions Cancellation
Cancellation by the clients
Cancellation requests should be sent via fax or emailed to provide the Company with written confirmation that your reservation should be cancelled.
In case you cancel your trip, the following scale of charges will be applied.
- For daily excursions no cancellation fee ( 0 % cancellation fee ) is charged and a full refund is given if the cancellation is received 12 hours before trip starts.
- Less than 12 hours before the trip starts a 50% will be charged as a cancellation fee.
- Additionally, there are cancellation fees on all domestic flights within Egypt. If you cancel a tour at any time, you will be subject to any fees according to airline’s cancellation policy.
Cancellation by Golavita
We reserve the right to cancel a tour at any circumstances but will not cancel a tour less than 45 days before departure, except for Force Majeure, Low Bookings or clients’ failure to pay the final balance, the Company will, upon cancellation, return all monies paid excluding payment for travel insurance or offer an alternative tour of comparable standard. No compensation will be paid to the Client if cancellation is because of Force Majeure or Low Bookings.

Is it allowed for non-Muslims to enter historical mosques in Egypt?
• Non-Catholics can enter the Vatican and non-Christians are welcomed at churches around the world. While not all the holy mosques of Egypt are off-limits to non-Muslims. All the historical mosques are open for the visit of Muslims/non-Muslims alike like Mohamed Ali Mosque within the Citadel, Amr Ibn El Ass mosque, Ibn Tulun mosque, El Refae mosque, Madrassa of Sultan Hassan and Al Azhar mosque. However, there are protocols which must be followed. Always remember a mosque is a place of prayer and worship for Muslims. It is not a museum.
Can I take pictures while visiting the monuments in Egypt
